Camcorders are not dead at all. They are video workhorses. Virtually always in focus due to smaller sensor, will run all day w/ no overheating, easy to position/hold, great long focal ranges, etc. Mirrorless are all the rage obviously, but for somebody who needs video and serious about needed long quality takes and dependability, camcorders are amazing. Turn it on and go, no messing around.
